August 16, 2019: Chinese ambassador to the UN talks to media declaring Kashmir’s situation very tense and dangerous. Calls both Pakistan and India to refrain from taking unilateral actions that may aggravate the crisis.
August 16, 2019: United States and France have backed India’s position in the Security Council while UK and China have stood against it. Russia remains neutral.
August 16, 2019: UN Security Council has begun a Closed Door Special meeting to discuss Kashmir. No objections to the meeting by any of the five permanent members.
August 16, 2019: Pakistan’s Foreign Office has just responded to India’s Nuclear Threat of scrapping NFU in the light of future circumstances.

August 7, 2019: National Security Committee of Pakistan has decided to call off bilateral trade with India. Diplomatic Relations with India will be downgraded. The independence day will be the day of solidarity with Kashmir. Bilateral treaties will be reviewed. Pakistan will approach UNSC.
Analysis: Since India has violated Simla Agreement by changing the status of Kashmir unilaterally, We expect Pakistan to review Simla Agreement that made Kashmir a bilateral dispute.

August 3, 2019: Indian Ministry of External Affairs warns tourists in Kashmir of insecurity stating the risk of unpredictable violence. Thousands of tourists have fled occupied Kashmir. Australia, UK, Canada and Germany have issued travel warning for Kashmir to their citizens.
August 3, 2019: Pakistan confirms India is using cluster bombs to target civilian population on Pakistan’s side of the LOC. ISPR and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan condemn the use of cluster bomb munitions. Pakistan accuses India of violating International Law.
Analysis: Convention on Cluster Munitions is an International Treaty signed in 2008 by 108 countries. However 106 countries ratified the treaty. Neither India nor Pakistan are among signatories. A treaty is binding on a state when it ratifies that treaty.
August 1, 2019: 28000 Additional troops are being deployed in a rush in Occupied Kashmir by the Indian Army.
July 29, 2019: Three Indian troops killed as Pakistan retaliates to ceasefire violation.
July 29, 2019: Pakistan and India are engaged in crossfire across the LOC. Pakistan loses 2 civilians, 19 are reported injured. Site of target is Neelum Valley.
July 27, 2019: India has deploying 10,000 more troops in Kashmir. This has caused panic among the residents of the occupied state of Kashmir. All local political parties including National Congress led by Omar Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party led by Mehbooba Mufti, express concern over Indian government’s recent aggressive measures.
July 25, 2019: Indian government is all set to scrap articles 370 and 35-A which give special autonomous status to the occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir. The articles protect the demography of Kashmir by denying property rights in Kashmir to the Indian citizens.
